Competitive Teams

Girls and boys, U7 to U19, coached the City SC Way.

Competitive soccer for East County players who are ready for more: training 2–3 times per week, a league season, and a licensed coaching staff working from one development system. Teams are selected at tryouts and built around where each player is right now and where they can go.

How teams are formed

We place players where they’ll be stretched the right amount. At tryouts our coaches look at developmental readiness, current ability, long-term potential, positional tendencies and competitive balance, not just what a player does on one day. Every player develops differently, and we consider attitude, coachability and readiness for challenge alongside skill.

Not selected this time? Rosters change through the year and we evaluate players who come to us late. Email info@citysceastcounty.com with your player’s birth year and we’ll tell you what’s open.

How tryouts work

1. Find your age group. Choose location, girls or boys, and your player’s birth month and year. Age groups follow the August 1 – July 31 birth-date chart.
2. Register online before tryouts so we have your player’s details and can send session times.
3. Come to a session. Expect a normal training: warm-up, technical work, small-sided and full-sided play. Bring cleats, shin guards, a ball and water; no other clubs’ jerseys, please. Arrive 15 minutes early.
4. Hear from us within 72 hours. If your player is offered a spot, you’ll get placement details, registration instructions and your acceptance timeline. Your coach shares the full schedule after placement.

How we coach

The City SC Way

Every coach, every session and every age group works to the same standard: intentional, age-appropriate coaching; an individual path for each player; positive, challenging training; clear communication with families; and confidence, character and a love of the game. It’s written into our tryout packet, and it’s what you should hold us to.
